I’m so excited because our call is on Tuesday! But before the call I have one more step I want you to incorporate to get ready for our Cleanse Party.

Today it’s time for step #3!

AND I know you may say “I know it”, but are you actually doing it?

Today’s step is super important and here is why:

A 2010 clinical trial confirms that people who drank two glasses of water before eating a meal ate between 75 and 90 calories less during the meal.

Over the course of 12 weeks dieters who drank water before meals, three times per day, lost about 5 pounds more than those who didn’t increase their water intake. Our body often takes the first signals of dehydration as hunger so it’s important to drink water in between meals and stay hydrated. Researchers in Germany reported that drinking approximately 17 ounces of water increases our metabolic rate, the rate at which calories are burned, by 30% for both men and women. The researchers estimated that over the course of a year, a person who increases water consumption by 8 glasses a day would burn an extra 17 400 calories, for a weight loss of approximately five pounds.

And you know, I’m not big on counting calories… but I think staying hydrated is super important!

Today’s action step: Step #3.

Start your day with 16 or more ounces of room temperature water before your breakfast. Yes! That means before your morning coffee. If you must have itJ!

Drink two glasses of water between each meal: breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner. Here is the important part, have your water between the meals not during your meals.

How to drink 6 – 8 glasses of water:

The easiest way to remember to drink water during the day for me is actually make a big pitcher of water and have it on my desk. The water is staring me in my face so it’s not easy to ignore it.

I love my water flavored with lemon. It feels so refreshing and it’s alkalizing for our body.

In the fall and winter I often feel cold and I really enjoy sipping hot water with lemon or herbal teas. I use herbal not decaf teas! Decaf teas contain small amounts of caffeine and caffeine is dehydrating for our body.

Your assignment for today:

Find at home or buy a nice glass pitcher, a selection of your favorite herbal teas, and a few lemons and start hydrating.

Doing this simple action step will have a huge impact on your hunger level, cravings, and snacking throughout the day, and ultimately will help you lose weight.

Being at your ideal weight and optimal health requires incorporating many small steps that will create a big shift.

All three steps I was talking about over the last few weeks are small building blocks that will get you closer to the body, health, and life you really desire.
