Good Morning Gorgeous! Wake Up With My Luscious Coffee Substitute Recipe!

Most of us have a very loving, intimate relationship with our morning cup of coffee…

We love the ritual, the smell, the taste, sitting in our PJ’s, holding our favorite cup in our hands and drinking as we ease into our day…

Over the years we master the perfect way to create our flawless cup of coffee to wake us up in the morning, pick us up in the afternoon and finish our meal at the end of the day.

We love our lattes, espressos, cappuccinos, or just the classic- black with milk or half and half and sugar…

I loved it too.

My favorite time of the day was my 30 minutes morning “wake up” ritual sipping my coffee with milk and sugar.

Of course, I was awake by the time I was enjoying my coffee but I loved to sit in my kitchen and savor the time of the day just before the reality sets in, it was my morning “me” time…

Eventually I realized that my relationship with coffee was not mutual– I loved my coffee, but coffee didn’t love me back.

I slowly started noticing that my favorite ritual comes with a few downsides that I was trying to ignore…

My body felt shaky, my heart was racing and I felt nervous and rushed.

I felt energized and awake quickly, but shortly after I felt tired and sleepy again.

So what do you do when you feel tired and sleepy? Of course! You have another cup of coffee to pick you up!

The wrinkle was, if I had another cup of coffee I had trouble sleeping at night. That is a whole nother story that I’ll be sharing with you soon in my blog.

And I couldn’t help but wonder, could my frequent afternoon headaches be related to coffee… Well, unfortunately they were.

I realized that I’m very sensitive to caffeine and decided to quit my morning friend… The problem was, my friend didn’t want to let me go.

I had to face it, I was a coffee addict and the letting go process went on for a while.

I tried the 50/50 approach – fifty 50% regular, 50% decaf. That went relatively well.

The next step was drinking only decaf… If I had known that the coffee tasted exactly the same I would have switched a long time ago.

Then the time came for a healthy way to keep my coffee sweet. I don’t know about you, but my coffee has to be sweet… that’s a non-negotiable.

I started using liquid Stevia and that was another successful substitution!

And then after weeks of preparing myself for the “big leap” I was ready…

And as I was ready to quit coffee I was not ready to quit my comforting morning ritual!

I started looking for a solution, but a cup of any kind of tea was not doing it for me…

I needed the comforting consistency, texture and density that coffee had.

After some trial and error I found a tasty solution!

I would love to share with you what I discovered and share with you my favorite recipe.

Say Good Moring Gorgeous with a Cup of Teeccino with Almond Milk and a Drop of Stevita.

What you need:

1.    Your favorite, beautiful china cup

2.    Teeccino Medium Roast or Vanilla Herbal Coffee

available in most of the stores or

3.    Almond Milk – home made or store bought

4.    Stevita from Brazil – the best quality stevia extract, liquid or powder
